What is the Suzy Hood, Why Choose Suzy, SouthMed, Dunedin, New Zealand

The Suzy hood is a clear hood that is placed over the patient’s head allowing the patient to speak, wear glasses, cough and even sip water, leading to greater overall comfort and higher tolerability of treatment. The hood has a silicone neck seal comfortably fits around the patient’s neck, allowing for higher positive pressures to be administered compared with a facemask.
The Suzy Hood can be used as an Oxygen tent to supply concentrated oxygen to hypoxic patients or can be connected to a mechanical ventilator to provide CPAP, BiPAP or NIV mechanical ventilation.
